it's supernatural

Spent the last 4 days volunteering at the Supernatural convention. Yes. Jared and Jensen and Misha are as unbelievably, incredibly, ridiculously good looking in person as they are on tv. Intelligent, funny and witty too. Sigh. Had a great time. Didn't get to meet the J's but did end up on the autograph table with the Ghostfacer boys for 4 hours. Oh My God those boys are crazy. Like little boys poking and picking at each other. There was a lot of clowning around until the realisation that if continued they were going to be there all night occurred. Then there was still clowning around but slightly less. Misha Collins is very smart and terribly handsome. I'm so glad I was there for his turn on stage. He made a stink about the screened questions that he was going to be asked and insisted on taking live audience questions. He was fantastic - he had a few weird questions but handled them with ease and sarcasm. Some dumb girl asked him what he would do if he was in an accident next week and lost his legs and was horribly disfigured. WTF? He really put her in her place. Nicely and with humour but his answer was hilarious. He has has the comebacks so quickly. I wish I was witty like that.  Jared and Jensen were great on stage too. In fact I don't think there was anyone who wasn't great. It was a lot of work. A lot more that the Stargate convention. That was a breeze. This was a gale force wind. But I think it was worth it. Had fun and got to see all the stuff. Didn't get any goodies this time which was a bit of a bummer. But had a good time (and nothing else to do this weekend). No job as of yet but hopefully something will come up this week. 

Am totally in the mood for watching Supernatural now so I picked up some dvd's from the library for a marathon. Woooo!  Just relaxing now after too much hard work and lack of sleep. Trying to figure out how to put a youtube video on here as well. Found a good one for Castiel done to Halo.

Yesterday as I walked back from evening program the girls came screaming out of the cabin.

"Mouse!! Mouse!!! There's a mouse!!!"

I am over the little critters that are everywhere in this place. Seriously! I don't mind when they are outside in the woods but when they are in my cabin! I mean it's just not on. I've had toads under my bed and mice in my dresser drawers! Yuck! One tried to gnaw it's way into my jar of vegemite. Sacrilige!  It obviously had good taste though.

Not so much too write about lately. Oh, other than the fact that I quit my crappy weekend job at the cinema of idiots... and I signed up for Camp America for next year... Oh yeah, I also went to Sydney for a few days. Didn't see any riots though so that was nice. I'm on holidays now from my much nicer full time job so I have two weeks of absolutely nothing but Gilmore Girls and Stargate Atlantis marathons,  Xmas and eating too much junk food to look forward to.

I really need to get a life.

Or maybe not. I'm happy with my tv marathons and junk food.  And just to make this entry worth reading .....  some good stuff!

The good stuff today includes:

"Oh, thank you!" Rodney said. "That's incredibly comforting. Our lives are in the feeble and incompetent hands of modern medicine, we can't do anything about it, and you want me to relax?"
"You know, if you get stressed out in here, it's probably not that good for you outside," John pointed out.
"What kind of an idiot do you think I am!" Rodney said. "There's no biofeedback connection between our bodies out there and our bodies in here. Which is a good thing, since otherwise we would be screaming blackened husks just like our actual bodies are outside!"
John could already tell this was going to be his favorite infirmary stay ever.

"Ah, yes," Rodney nodded, then tilted his head.  "Teyla is…the woman with the long, reddish hair, yes?"
"Yeah."
"She's very pretty."
Sheppard grinned, "Yeah.  I noticed." 
He eyed Rodney, "I'm surprised you did."
"Are you kidding?" Rodney smiled broadly, "I may have been a little distracted with the whole, uh, Atlantis rising thing, Major, but I'm not blind.  Believe me, the men of Atlantis all thank you."

It's my birthday today! And to celebrate I made a music vid for SGA. I made it to the song Unwell by Matchbox 20 which is how I will be feeling after I eat all the chocolate people have given me. Yum yum yum!

ghost cat

Having recently read about catboy's supernatural adventures I was reminded of one of my own brushes with the paranormal, which looking back on it now was a lot less para and a lot more normal. When my family travelled up to Sydney many years ago we we stayed with my aunt who cheerfully informed us that her house was haunted by the ghost of a cat that had been swept into the basement during a storm and drowned. All that was left was its little bare bones. Being only a wee little thing and having already suffered the nasty shock of finding my bed full of spiders earlier that night I was already  on edge. As I lay in my bed that night (on the floor as well, perfect height for a prowling ghost kitty to jump on my face) absolutely terrified of every noise, I heard quiet little pat pat of paws on the floor. I don't think I've ever run so fast or screamed so loud. Well except that one summer when those two cats had that giant fight in the middle of the night right outside my open window about 10 centimetres from my head. I screamed so loud that I woke up my whole family and my dad got such a fright he tore a great big hole in his bed sheet. Always with the cats. I don't know. They don't seem to like me very much.

strange things are happening

Hmmm. very suspicious and bizarre behaviour is afoot in my street today. I'm not entirely sure what was happening but across the street there was a great deal of commotion when a truck containing 3 men in red shirts and a red car with two more men rocked up at the house. What followed seemed more likely to occur in a slapstick movie than real life as after some discussion a man jumped back into the car and sped off down the street closely followed by the truck which was chased by another man with a rake and a doberman. Then 3 men came out of the house and ran down the street carrying large plastic bins and barrels filled with what looked like grass. Shortly more cars turned up and more bins were removed from the residence by frantic looking guys who proceeded to then speed off and return in minutes sometimes not even bothering to drive the right way up the street but rather flying along in reverse! I've come to the conclusion that either the house was home to an illicit drug lab and they had to remove the evidence or the guys in the truck were repo men and the other guys were friends of the people who live there and came to get their stuff that was going to be repo'ed. Or maybe the people who live there are just really weird. My birthday so far has been very interesting.

run forrest, run

Went to the market at St Kilda this morning with the olds. Along the way we got to watch the Melbourne Marathon going by. I'm not sure how many thousands of people were in it but people were still running by two hours after we got there. Bought a nice glass patè dish to take overseas as a gift for the people I'm staying with. Can't just crash at their place without bringing something. Then to top off the day we were walking past a couple of FOX FM Black Thunder cars and two guys jumped out and asked us if we wanted free stuff. Well yeah! Got a dorky cap, a bottle of powerade, a drink bottle, lollies, car air freshener, dips and a movie pass. It was just like one of my better dreams where I go shopping and I can just take whatever I want because everything is free.
